According to Prineville Police Chief Eric Bush, police were informed on Tuesday, November 6, that a toddler with serious injuries consistent with both sexual and physical abuse was at Pioneer Memorial Hospital.

An investigation ensued, Bush said, and police learned the child was allegedly assaulted by his mother’s boyfriend, Bobby Sorg, while at the apartment of the child and mother in the Ridgeview Commons.

Sorg, who resides on SE Fairview Street, was arrested and lodged in the Crook County Jail in lieu of $160,000 bail, the chief reported.  He has been charged with first-degree sexual abuse, sodomy, and criminal mistreatment; and second- and third-degree assault.

The investigation, lead by the Prineville Police Department with assistance from members of the Central Oregon Major Crimes Team, is continuing, Bush said.
