City seeks applicants for open committee positions

Planning Commission; Arts, Beautification and Culture Commission; Central Area Plan Committee; Traffic Safety Advisory Committee

The City of Bend is currently seeking members to serve on several city committees. Applicants are encouraged to apply by the deadline date of November 26. Below is the list of terms and responsibilities for each committee or commission with openings:

Planning Commission
Committee members are appointed for four year terms to review and make recommendations regarding land use matters.


Arts, Beautification, and Culture Commission

Committee members are appointed for 3 year terms and provide recommendations on the City’s role in supporting Art, Beauty, and Culture.


Central Area Plan Committee

The Central Area Plan Committee is established to provide advice and recommendations to the BURA Board and City Council on matters pertaining to parking, the Central Area Plan, and urban renewal/Downtown projects.  Applications will be accepted from land/business owners or residents of the Downtown Core area and will be appointed for a one-year term.


Traffic Safety Advisory Committee

Committee members are appointed to recommend traffic safety improvements and traffic safety programs.


Applicants must be residents of the City of Bend. Interested individuals may call the City of Bend at 388-5505 or pick up an application at City Hall (710 NW Wall Street, Bend, Oregon) in the Administration Offices. Applications and information can also be found at
