Deschutes County is currently looking for a citizen to serve on the Deschutes County Budget Committee.  Applications are being taken now until Monday, December 31; interviews are expected to be held in early January of 2008.

Budget Committee Members are responsible for reviewing a proposed budget and recommending a final version to the Board of County Commissioners for adoption. Citizens with finance or business management experience are encouraged to apply.

Committee members are asked to serve a three-year term and will not be paid for time spent working on the proposed budget.  Committee volunteers attend approximately seven meetings between January and the end of June including one full week of afternoon meetings in May.  Additional meetings may be called if necessary. Members review financial documents on their own time to prepare for sessions.
