The fourth annual pet adoption & education fair will be held Saturday, December 8 and Sunday, December 9, in the downstairs conference rooms in the Deschutes Services Center, 1300 NW Wall St. in Bend (located off the Parkway at the Lafayette exit).

“Furry Friends in Need – A Home for the Holidays” is jointly sponsored by most local animal rescue and shelter organizations.  The Deschutes Services Center location provides the public with a comfortable setting to visit with many animals from local shelters and foster homes.

The event will feature dozens of kittens, cats, puppies, dogs, bunnies, rodents, birds and other small critters – all needing loving homes this holiday season.  All participating agencies are offering special reduced adoption fees for this event.

On Saturday night, December 8, a silent auction will be held in downtown Bend – see the Bend Spay & Neuter website for full details: www.bendsnip.org.

All proceeds will provide spay/neuter surgery for homeless cats, and the cats & dogs of people who cannot afford traditional veterinary services.

The event times are as follows:

§          Saturday, December 8, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. – families can stop by after the downtown Bend Christmas Parade!

§          Sunday, December 9, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Pet adoption fees include a vet wellness exam, spay or neuter, first set of vaccinations, a carry box for cats/kittens, in most cases an ID microchip, a pet “goodie bag” and more!
