7th Annual Make-a-Wish Radiothon exceeds goal

(BEND, Ore.) – The seventh annual Make-A-Wish Radiothon exceeded its goal and raised $40,465 and 392,454 frequent flier miles that will help grant six wishes to children living with life-threatening medical conditions in Central Oregon.
“We are grateful to have reached our goals for the 7th Annual Radiothon in Central Oregon,” said Andrew Asato, Executive Director of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oregon. “We extend our thanks to everyone who contributed and helped six young people in Central Oregon experience the power of a wish!”
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oregon grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. This year's drive exceeded its 2007 goal of $40,000 and surpassed the approximately $35,000 raised last year, said Keith Shipman, President & CEO of HBG. HBG owns and operates five radio stations in Central Oregon, including KQAK-FM (105.7, Oldies), KWPK-FM (The PEAK 104.1, Hot AC), KLTW-FM (LITE 95.1, Soft Adult Contemporary), KWLZ-FM (LAZER 96.5, Classic Rock) and KRCO-AM (690 khz, Classic Country). |
