Bend High, Summit High Athletic Teams Recognized for Outstanding Academic Achievement

OSAA Announces 2006 Fall Sports Academic All-State Teams

Several Bend-La Pine Schools’ high school athletic teams have been recognized for their outstanding academic achievement in today’s Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) Fall Academic All-State award announcement.  From Bend and Summit High’s football, cross country, and soccer teams, their grade point averages (GPA) ranged from 3.15 to 3.83.

The teams included in the Fall 2006 Top 10 are:

§         Bend High School Football (1st Place), 3.26 GPA

§         Summit High Boys Cross Country (2nd Place), 3.81 GPA

§         Summit High School Football (3rd Place tie), 3.15 GPA

§         Summit High Boys Soccer (4th Place), 3.47 GPA

§         Bend High Boys Soccer (5th Place), 3.44 GPA

§         Summit High Girls Soccer (5th Place tie), 3.61 GPA

§         Summit High Girls Cross Country (9th Place), 3.83 GPA

The program, sponsored by the Dairy Farmers of Oregon, recognizes outstanding achievement in the classroom.  Members of each winning team will receive a commemorative pin from the Dairy Farmers of Oregon and the OSAA.
