Redmond man arrested for alleged child sex abuse

A police investigation led to the arrest Thursday night of a 27-year old man accused of rape, sodomy and sexual abuse against two underage girls at his Redmond, Oregon home, detectives reported.

According to a news release prepared by Redmond Police Detective Sgt. Mike Kidwell, Johnny Paul Burns, 27, is alleged to have provided alcohol to, and engaged in sexual conduct with two girls, aged 12 and 14, over a three-week time period.

Burns’ residence at 767 NW 8th Street was searched shortly after 10 p.m., December 13, Kidwell said, and detectives also executed a search warrant on Burns himself.

Burns was taken into custody and lodged in the Deschutes County Jail in lieu of bail, the detective reported. He is charged with first-degree rape, four counts of first-degree sodomy, two counts of first-degree sex abuse, and three counts of furnishing alcohol to minors.
