The City of Bend has approved a night work permit to allow work on Mount Washington Drive immediately west of Third Street (State Highway 20).

The night work will occur beginning Thursday, November 2nd, 2006, 8:00 p.m. through Friday, November 3rd, 2006, 7:00 a.m.

Traffic will be maintained through the work zone, but lane assignments will
be different.  Drivers are urged to use caution and follow temporary lane
assignments carefully.  Watch for workers and equipment in and adjacent to the roadway.

This work will accomplish the removal of a sewer manhole on the old Mount Washington Bridge, which is now a pedestrian walkway.  The improvement is a precautionary measure to protect public health and safety and river water quality in the area.

No unreasonably loud noise is expected, however the contractor may install temporary lighting and other equipment as needed to complete the work and protect the safety of workers and the public.
