Death of Sisters woman in hot springs called ‘suspicious’

Lane County and Deschutes County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the suspicious death of a 43-year old Sisters woman found in a natural hot springs near the McKenzie River in Lane County, Oregon on Monday evening.

Gina Marie Purdy was discovered in the Deer Creek Hot Springs, also known as Bigelow Hot Springs, near milepost 14 in the McKenzie Bridge area on Highway 242 about 5:30 p.m., December 17, Lane County Sheriff’s Sgt. Clint Riley reported.

An autopsy was scheduled to be conducted Wednesday, Riley said, but investigators have called the death ‘suspicious’.
