A 33-year old Bend man was arrested early Monday in connection with an alleged vicious domestic assault and rape that left the victim with “substantial” facial injuries including a broken jaw, police reported.
Bend Police officers were called to a residence in southeast Bend to a reported physical domestic disturbance about 3:45 a.m., January 1, Sgt. Brian Kindel said. Upon arrival, they found the injured victim -- an adult woman whose name and age are being withheld due to the ongoing investigation.

An investigation led to the arrest of Fabien Patino, who was lodged in the Deschutes County Jail, the sergeant said. He is charged with second-degree assault (domestic violence), first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse, and coercion.
The victim was transported to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend for treatment of injuries she sustained.
