The crash occurred about 4:50 p.m., December 30, on Highway 26 near milepost 25 east of Elsie, Oregon State Police (OSP) reported.  26-year old Zachary Albrecht from Cannon Beach was traveling east in a Ford Explorer when the SUV crossed the centerline and crashed into a westbound Land Rover.

The driver of the Land Rover, Johnathan Reimann, 46, of Tigard; his three passengers – including two children aged 12 and 13; and Albrecht were all transported by Medix Ambulance to Legacy Emanuel Hospital.

All persons involved were using safety restraints, troopers said.

While the investigation is continuing, troopers said it was snowing at the time of the crash and the highway was icy.  The road was reopened to traffic about an hour later, OSP said.
