According to a news release, deputies responded to the La Pine Fire Department at the corner of Day Road and Burgess Road about 9:45 a.m., January 3, to a reported stabbing victim.

Based on evidence and witness testimony, deputies determined that Wade allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed the other man in the forearm while they were engaged in a fight at a residence on Deedon Lane that Deschutes County Sheriff’s Lt. Erik Utter described as “mutual combat”.

Dale Wade, 32, was taken into custody and lodged in the Deschutes County Jail. He is charged with first- and fourth-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, menacing, coercion and harassment.

The victim, 22-year old Timothy Hixon, was treated at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend for non life-threatening injuries, the lieutenant reported.

The investigation is continuing, Utter said, adding that the two men knew each other prior to the incident.
