WASHINGTON -- Presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., reportedly will pick up the endorsement of 2004 Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass.

Kerry was to announce his endorsement of Obama in his bid to be the 2008 Democratic nominee during a rally Thursday, a source told CNN.

Kerry's endorsement of Obama is at the expense of his 2004 running mate, former Sen. John Edwards, D-S.C.

Obama won the Iowa caucuses but came in second to Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., in Tuesday's New Hampshire primary.
