KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - A large mudslide buried train tracks in Oregon this weekend, prompting a temporary stoppage of all rail transport through the Klamath Falls area.

An Amtrak spokesman said the company's passenger train service through the area would be suspended until the tracks could be cleared of mud and debris left by Saturday's slide, The (Portland) Oregonian reported Sunday.

As workers attempt to clear the tracks, Amtrak was working to help all travelers on its Coast Starlight route from Los Angeles to Portland complete their journey.

The company spokesman said buses would be used to help stranded passengers travel from Klamath Falls and Portland, the Oregonian reported.
