Former Oregon teacher arrested for rape of student

Detectives arrested an Oregon man on Friday and charged him with rape, sodomy, custodial interference and multiple accounts of sexual abuse in connection with an alleged relationship with a 16-year-old student in his capacity as a teacher and wrestling coach at Willamette Valley Christian School in Brooks.

Andrew Scot Bolsinger, 41, a current resident of Phoenix, Oregon, and editor of the Ashland Daily Tidings, had been under investigation since his former student contacted the Marion County Sheriffs Office in September of 2007. The female student, 16 at the time of the alleged crimes, reported having a sexual relationship with Bolsinger in the spring of 2000.

According to detectives, Bolsinger has not been employed at the school since May of that year.
