Plaintiffs in child sex suit to be unnamed

HARTFORD, Conn. - A judge in Connecticut has ruled that plaintiffs who claim a Hartford endocrinologist molested them can remain anonymous.
About 60 people have sued St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center since a cache of pornographic photos were found in the home of the late Dr. George Reardon, the Hartford Courant reported. Reardon, who died in 1998, resigned from the hospital in 1993 amid allegations of child sexual abuse.
Former patients say Reardon photographed them after telling them or their parents he was involved in research on human growth. Police say the photographs and slides in Reardon's home showed children in pornographic poses.
Judge James Graham ruled Monday that the nature of the abuse plaintiffs allegedly suffered means their right to privacy outweighs any public interest in knowing their names.
