PEACHTREE CITY, Fla. - Two Georgia teenagers' attempt to get at another teen they called a bully backfired when their crude homemade bomb injured a letter carrier, police allege.
The teens, one age 15 and the other 16, have been charged with making an explosive device, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. Police in Peachtree City say the boys admitted leaving a bottle loaded with household chemicals in a mailbox.
They were released to their parents' custody after a hearing Monday.
"They are not in school and have been ordered to stay away from the victim," said Greg Stein, an assistant district attorney in Fayette County.
Police said a similar device was thrown Friday on the porch of a house where the alleged bully lives. A letter carrier found the second device the next day, and suffered minor burns and inhalation of chemicals.
