According to Clackamas County Sheriff’s deputies, an intruder broke into Joel and Shannon Rosabal’s home at 8593 SE Boulder Creek Court on January 31 between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., took the 2 ½-year-old dog named Ruby and Ruby’s food, then bizarrely left a scruff of dog hair “prominently displayed in a curio cabinet”.

No ransom note was left, deputies said, adding that the Rosabals have no children and are devastated by the theft. They offer the $10,000 reward for information and the safe return of Ruby.

Deputies are processing the crime scene, and anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Tip Line at 503.723.4949.

The Pomeranian was wearing a collar with a gold tag inscribed with the Rosabals’ address.
