Police have released few details related to the death of a 25-year old man who was found Sunday morning in a resident recreation building of a Lake Oswego apartment complex, but have arrested a suspect, another tenant in the same complex, who has been charged with second-degree manslaughter.
Other than stating that investigators determined the death was a criminal homicide and that they had arrested the “single person believed responsible” for the death, few details -- including the possible motive or manner of death -- were disclosed. Michael David Hessemer, 23, was taken into custody and lodged in the Clackamas County Jail. He has been charged with second-degree manslaughter, a Class B felony that carries a maximum penalty of ten years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Both the victim and suspect live in separate residences in the complex, police said. Hessemer’s bail was set at $250,000.
