Two people from Banks, Oregon, including an 8-month pregnant woman and the father of her unborn child, were killed in a horrific two-vehicle crash on icy Highway 6 Sunday night, police reported. Two children were also sent to the hospital, one with serious injuries.
White, 8-months pregnant, and the right-front passenger and father of her unborn baby, 41-year old Martin J. Arthur, were pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.
White’s four-year-old son, Connor White, was in a child safety seat in the right rear, and suffered serious injuries. He was flown by LifeFlight emergency medical helicopter to Legacy Emanuel Hospital (LEH).
Arthur’s six-year-old nephew, Tyler Arthur, was seated in the left rear and was wearing a safety belt. Troopers said he was transported by Metro West ambulance to LEM with a possible injury.
The Hyundai’s driver was identified as 19-year-old Matthew S. Olson of Forest Grove. He was not unharmed, OSP reported. Troopers from the Banks Area Command office are continuing the investigation, which closed Highway 6 between Banks and Highway 26 for about four hours. |
