A search continues for two snowmobile riders missing since Sunday evening, a father and son who failed to return home from a ride in the Dutchman Flat Sno-Park area near Mt. Batchelor about 22 miles southwest of Bend.

Family members of the missing men, ages 53 and 29, reported them missing about 7:30 p.m. November 26 when they failed to return home from a snowmobile ride, said Sgt. Marvin Combs with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office.  The family said the men are familiar with the area and are carrying cell phones and FRS (family radio service) radios.

Deschutes County Search and Rescue personnel and volunteers searched all night long without success, and have now called local snowmobile clubs asking for experienced riders to assist in the search.

At the present time, there are approximately 30 snowmobiles and riders searching the area for the lost men.
