TOKYO - A recent flap over pesticide-laced frozen dumplings has left most Japanese vowing not to touch Chinese food, a survey indicates.

The Kyodo News telephone survey conducted Saturday and Sunday showed 75.9 percent of Japanese consumers said they "will not use Chinese food from now on" because of the food-poisoning incident that sickened at least 10 people in December. Before the episode, 52.1 percent had said they stayed away from Chinese food products.

The survey also showed 51.1 percent of those questioned expressed dissatisfaction with the Japanese government's response to the food-poisoning incident.
