Bend Fire Department’s Santa Express Coat, Blanket Drive Kicks Off
Dec 01,2006 00:00 by City of Bend Fire Department

The holidays are coming, and with the season comes the 13th year of Santa Express, a partnership between the Bend Fire Department, the Bend Firefighters Association, and The Salvation Army to provide food, clothing, and toys to families in need in Central Oregon.

A new part of Santa Express this year is a one-day Santa Express Coat & Blanket Drive, conducted in partnership with Sportsman’s Warehouse.  On Friday, December 8, stop by the parking lot of Sportsman’s Warehouse, located on Hunnell Road, and donate new or good condition used coats and blankets.  The hours of operation will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.  All coats and blankets collected will go directly to The Salvation Army to be distributed to those in need.

During the Santa Express Coat and Blanket Drive, donations of non-perishable food and new, unwrapped toys will also be accepted.

For more information, please contact Cindy Kettering with the Bend Fire Department at 322-6381.

Thank you for your assistance in making the holidays brighter for families throughout Central Oregon.
