A two-month investigation culminated in a raid at the home of Madras couple Tuesday morning, the seizure of drugs and cash, and the pair’s arrest on multiple drug charges. Detectives said the woman had long been considered a major supplier of methamphetamine to the Madras area.
Bend Police Lt. John Gautney, working in consort with the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement (CODE) team, reported that following a lengthy investigation CODE detectivies, Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies and Madras Police officers executed a search warrant at 1581 SW Marie Street in Madras about 8:10 a.m.
Both residents, Sherry Ann Harper, 35, and Brian Michael Motacek, 31, were home at the time of the raid, Gautney said, and were taken into custody without incident.
Two ounces of meth, two grams of cocaine, packaging materials, digital scales, drug records and surveillance equipment were seized.
The value of the controlled substances seized during the raid was estimated at $4,700, but Gautney added, “Harper has been considered a major supplier of meth to the Madras area.”
Both suspects were lodged in the Jefferson County Jail and were charged with possession, delivery and manufacture of meth; possession of cocaine; and frequenting a place where controlled substances are kept or sold, the news release stated. Motacek also faces an additional charge of violation of a ‘no contact’ order.
