Bend Police officers responded to a reported stabbing at unit #21 in the Edelweiss Motel at 2346 NE Division Street about 4:30 a.m., Lt. Ben Gregory said.

They found the victim, Antone Lenz, 44, suffering non-life threatening injury from a stab wound. Lenz was transported by ambulance to St. Charles Medical Center for treatment, the lieutenant reported in a news release.

Preliminary investigation determined that the victim and his wife, 41-year old Becky Lenz had been arguing inside the motel room, and during the altercation the woman allegedly stabbed her husband.

Becky Lenz had fled the scene on foot prior to officer’s arrival, but was located a short time later on the north side of the motel where she was arrested without incident, Gregory said.

The suspect was lodged in the Deschutes County Jail and is charged with second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
