Pakistani police break up lawyers' protest

KARACHI, Pakistan -- Pakistani police in Karachi broke up a lawyers' protest rally Thursday against President Pervez Musharraf with batons and tear gas.

The bar association in Karachi, told CNN more than 20 people were injured and about one dozen arrested when police dispersed protesters trying to block a road and disrupt court proceedings.

Reports said the rally was one of several staged recently on Thursdays to demand reinstatement of judges dismissed by Musharraf last year.
