EUGENE, Ore. - A Eugene, Ore., radio DJ is helping sell a pretzel on eBay that allegedly resembles the Virgin Mary -- and bidding on the item has approached $100 million.

As of 6:43 p.m. PST Thursday, the top bid for the pretzel was $99,000,100.

Tanner Haney, a DJ who hosts "the Donkey Show" on rock station KVAL, is helping the pretzel's owner, Michael Fleming, publicize and execute the sale, The (Portland) Oregonian reported Thursday.

"We're kind of capitalizing on the stupidity of eBay and that people will buy anything," Haney told KVAL-TV, Eugene.

Fleming said he discovered the Virgin Mary-shaped pretzel three years ago in a Rold Gold bag.

"People seemed generally moved by these images," Fleming said. "And they really seem to believe that the Virgin Mary is before them."

The two men described the item on eBay as a "once in a lifetime auction."

"If it was not for the Lord Jesus Christ smiling upon the pretzel factory on the day of this little pretzel's conception, you would never have the opportunity to have it for your very own," the item description reads.
