A Woodland, Wash., woman has been sentenced to five years in prison for allowing a 12-year-old boy to drive his father's car, causing a fatal collision.
Kelley Hill, who was dating the father of 12-year-old Jake Fry at the time of the accident, pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter. She allowed the boy to drive his father's car, leading to the crash that killed the boy and injured three people in another vehicle, KPTV, Portland, Ore., reported Thursday.
"I can't express the destruction caused by Kelley Hill," Kathy Fry, the victim's mother, said at the sentencing hearing. "Kelley Hill murdered my son. She put him behind the wheel and he was killed."
The plea bargain, which also included guilty pleas to three charges of assault for the people injured in the second vehicle, also requires Hill to serve probation after her release from prison.
