An unnamed 20-year-old Prineville woman contacted Crook County Sheriff’s deputies and identified the suspect, Katen Blalack, 21, Detective Sgt. Travis Jurgens said. The alleged victim reported she was assaulted at her home in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 2.

Blalack was taken into custody and lodged at the Crook County Jail with bail set at $10,000. He was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual abuse, Jurgens reported.

According to the 2007 Edition of Oregon Revised Statutes, second-degree sexual abuse is a Class C felony for sexual activity without consent. First-degree charges, a Class B felony, would imply forcible sexual activity; and third-degree, a Class A misdemeanor, implies sexual contact without consent.
