GLADSTONE, Ore. -- A normally quiet residential neighborhood in Gladstone was awakened early Monday morning to the sound of shotgun blasts, police reported.
Gladstone Police said a neighbor reported seeing a thin, white man with curly blonde hair running away about 4:30 a.m. when the shots were heard. He was reported to be carrying what the witness described as a rifle. No vehicle was seen nor heard, and responding police were unable to locate any suspects.
About 7:30 a.m., a woman taking her morning walk found empty shot gun shells on the front lawn of a home at 17185 Valley View Road, and police found the home with broken windows.
The homeowner wasn’t home at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported, a news release stated.
“The homeowner has no idea why his home was targeted, nor any idea who would have done this,” police said.
