CLATSKANIE, Ore. -- Three people received non-life threatening injuries Monday morning after the driver lost control of her car which collided with a loaded logging truck on the icy road conditions of Highway 30 west of Clatskanie near the Gnat Creek Bridge, Oregon State Police (OSP) reported.
The truck driver, 61-year old Vernonia resident Jack Dulley, tried to slow down to avoid the Honda, but the trailer loaded with logs struck the rear of the car, OSP reported.
Gump and two passengers, Jacob Gump, 20, and 11-year-old Anna Gump, received minor injuries and were transported by ambulance to Columbia Memorial Hospital in Astoria for treatment.
Dulley was not injured, Trooper O’Connor said, and no logs spilled from the trailer.
All involved persons were wearing safety restraints, and the investigation is continuing. All lanes of traffic were closed for about an hour until one lane was re-opened, then all lanes were passable by 10 a.m., OSP said. |
