Jan. 5 Meeting: Oregon Social Gaming Laws Review

The Deschutes County District Attorney's Office is sponsoring an informational meeting on Friday, January 5 to review the Oregon Social Gaming laws. Members of non-profit organizations, businesses and all other citizens are encouraged to attend.

The meeting will explore Oregon social gaming laws and how they apply to Deschutes County games held in a private businesses, private clubs or lodging properties.  At the meeting, the District Attorney's Office will provide copies of relevant statutes that govern legal and illegal gaming in Oregon.

Cook Harvey, Chief Investigator for the Department of Justice Charitable Activities Section, will present information about legal and illegal forms of gaming at the meeting. 

Two lottery investigators from the Oregon State Police will assist with the presentation and will review Lottery Commission rules regarding legal and illegal forms of gaming.  At the social gaming meeting, a detective from the Bend Police Department will speak about recent, local gaming investigations.

Please attend and learn how you, your business or organization can hold gaming events legally while still providing alternative entertainment for your customers.
