BEIRUT, Lebanon -- Authorities in Lebanon are investigating reports that Hezbollah set up cameras to monitor activity at Beirut's international airport.

Judicial sources say a number of soldiers who discovered the cameras in containers have testified before the country's military prosecutor, The Daily Star of Lebanon reports.

In addition to the cameras, sources told the newspaper that security personnel spotted civilians taking photos of the airport in the same areas where the containers were stored.

Lebanon's Cabinet had a lengthy session earlier in the week to discuss the cameras as well as accusations that Hezbollah has established a private phone network.

A Hezbollah member of parliament said the phone network was "part of the resistance's arsenal" needed to prevent Israel from monitoring phone calls.
