ORLANDO, Fla. - An attorney says a judge should cancel depositions from the parents of Casey Anthony, a Florida mom accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.

Attorney Brad Conway said in a court filing that depositions from Anthony's parents, Cindy and George, should take place in a defamation case against their daughter, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel reported Wednesday.

Conway said Anthony's parents have endured emotional duress since their granddaughter went missing and was later found dead in Orlando, leading to their daughter's arrest on murder charges.

"They should not be subjected to additional publication of personal information while they are still grieving deeply," Conway said regarding the depositions set to take place Thursday.

The depositions are part of defamation lawsuit against Anthony filed by Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez, who Anthony initially accused of taking her daughter Caylee.

Conway told the court in his filing that any information his clients can provide can be offered through written questions, saving his clients from emotional court appearances, the Sentinel said.
