BEND, Ore. – Police are continuing the investigation into a rollover crash on Highway 20E east of Bend that seriously injured the driver Tuesday night, and say speed and alcohol may be possible contributing factors to the crash.
According to a news release issued by Oregon State Police (OSP), 35-year old Jennifer Jean Fisher of Bend was westbound on Highway 20E near milepost 31 and the George Millican Road intersection about 7:45 p.m., March 3, when her 2007 Toyota pickup left the highway, went down an embankment, and traveled about 300 feet before rolling several times. The cab separated from the frame, OSP Sgt. Chris Seber said.
Fisher was extricated from the wreckage by emergency medical service personnel and was flown by Air Link helicopter to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend with reportedly serious injuries, troopers said.
Fisher was wearing safety restraints at the time of the crash, the news release stated.
Deschutes County Sheriff’s deputies and Oregon Department of Transportation personnel assisted on scene, and the highway was completely closed to traffic for about one hour.
