Deputies shoot, kill man and arrest 80-year old woman on drug charges

MULINO, Ore. -- The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation into the officer involved fatal shooting on S. Macksburg Road in Mulino on Wednesday night that occurred when deputies were attempting to arrest two people on warrants in connection with a marijuana growing operation.

According to a news release issued by the sheriff’s office, two deputies went to home of 80-year old Marjorie Crawford about 10:30 p.m., March 4, and at 10:39 p.m. shots fired and a person down was reported.  SWAT team members and detectives responded, and SWAT secured the residence.

Crawford, experiencing medical issues unrelated to the incident, was taken from the scene by ambulance. She was arrested for manufacturing, delivery and possession of marijuana and was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail, the release said.

The deceased, whose name has not been disclosed, was transported to the Oregon Medical Examiner’s Office for a pending autopsy. After the body is positively identified and family is notified, the name of the person will be released, deputies said.  Fox12-Oregon reported the dead man was Crawford’s 68-year old companion of more than 20 years.

The involved deputies were not injured and per departmental policy have been placed on administrative leave. The sheriff’s office has not disclosed the names of the deputies, but said they plan on doing so at a later time after they have been interviewed.
