REDMOND, Ore. – Deputies have identified the man who died in an apparent domestic dispute from a gunshot wound northwest of Redmond on Sunday afternoon as 43-year old Christopher John Hamm.

Hamm was the son and step-son of the other two persons involved in the dispute, Jean M. Henderson, 59, and Larry Kent Henderson, 68, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Captain Marc Mills stated in a news release

Deputies were called to the family’s 8-acre property and home at 69616 Buckhorn Road about 12:45 p.m., March 8, in response to a 911 call and found Hamm suffering from a gunshot wound. He later died on scene, Lt. Shane Nelson reported in an earlier news release.

Captain Mills declined to provide any specific information about what occurred, citing the need for a complete investigation by the sheriff’s office and a review by the District Attorney’s Office.

An autopsy is scheduled sometime this week and will be performed at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Clackamas County.

“No arrests have been made and the investigation continues,” Mills said.
