CHICAGO -- A 16-year-old student in Chicago stabbed a fellow high school student suspected of previously bullying the perpetrator, officials say.

Chicago Public Schools officials said the stabbing took place at the DuSable Leadership Academy during a conflict resolution session when the teen encountered his alleged bully outside the dean of academics' office, the Chicago Sun-Times said Thursday.

The student, whose identity wasn't reported, immediately re-entered the dean's office and grabbed a pair of scissors, officials said.

The DuSable sophomore then used the scissors to stab his fellow student, also a 16-year-old sophomore at the school.

Officials said the stabbing victim was listed in serious condition following Wednesday's incident, the Sun-Times said.

Nothing was reported regarding possible charges against the teenage perpetrator in regards to the stabbing at the Betty Shabazz International Charter site.
