Three Bend teens escaped serious injury when their Jeep lost control and overturned east of Bend Thursday night, said deputies.

At about 11:30 p.m. December 28, a Deschutes County Deputy and Bend Fire & Ambulance responded to a report of a single vehicle rollover crash, said Sgt. Vance Lawrence.  They found a 2002 Jeep Liberty upside down on the west side of the road, near a driveway at 62687 Waugh Road.

Police say the Jeep, driven by 18-year old Kaylee Rianne Morgan, was traveling south on Waugh Road about 55 mph when it lost control and rolled off the road onto the west side of the highway.  The vehicle caused superficial damage to a Central Electric utility pole, added Sgt. Lawrence.

Morgan, and passenger 16-year old Carrisa Rene Lund were taken to St. Charles Medical Center by family members, where they were treated and released.

The second passenger, Jamie Summer Lucas, 17, was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported by ground ambulance to St. Charles in Bend where she was also treated and released.

According to Sgt. Lawrence, alcohol is not considered a factor in the crash, and no citations were issued.
