PRINEVILLE, Ore. – A 30-year old Prineville woman was injured and flown by helicopter to a Bend hospital after she lost control of her vehicle and it rolled over several times before landing upside down on O’Neil Highway this afternoon, deputies reported.

Jody Prewitt was driving west on O’Neil Highway near milepost 9 about 1:15 p.m. when she failed to negotiate a corner in her 1989 Ford Taurus, Crook County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jim Chapman said. County Fire and Rescue personnel responded and assisted the trapped driver.

Oregon State Police troopers interviewed Prewitt at St. Charles Medical Center. No citations have been issued and alcohol was not involved, they said.

While the extent of her injuries was unknown, Sgt. Chapman said they did not appear to be life-threatening.
