BALTIMORE -- In an unusual plea agreement, charges against a mother accused of starving her son will be dropped if the dead boy is resurrected, Maryland prosecutors say.

Ria Ramkissoon, 22, pleaded guilty Monday to one count of child abuse resulting in death in exchange for testimony against four co-defendants, The Baltimore Sun reported.

The plea agreement includes a "process of deprogramming" for Ramkissoon and a promise the charge against her will be dropped if her 2-year-old son, Javon Thompson, is resurrected, said prosecutors in Baltimore.

Ramkissoon insisted on the resurrection clause because she and her co-defendants -- members of a group called 1 Mind Ministries -- say they believe in the physical resurrection of the dead. The resurrection agreed to in the plea must be a "Jesus-like resurrection," as distinguished from reincarnation as an animal or object, the Sun reported.

Ramkissoon's lawyers allege she was brainwashed by her co-defendants into starving the boy to exorcise a demon. Ramkissoon was sentenced to a 20-year prison sentence with all but time served suspended followed by a five-year probation.
