DOHA, Qatar -- A meeting between the Saudi Arabian king and Libyan ruler Moammar Gadhafi in Qatar appears to have mended a feud between them, officials said.

Gadhafi met with Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Qatari Emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and others at Al-Bahr Palace in Doha Tuesday on the sidelines of the Arab Summit in an effort to iron out disagreements that erupted earlier, the Qatar News Agency reported.

Gadhafi stormed out of the Doha Sheraton after reportedly criticizing the Saudi king on the microphone and declaring himself the "dean of Arab rulers," and was followed by King Abdullah and the Emir, Al Jazeera reported.

The three leaders later met for about 30 minutes to patch up the feud, which dates back to 2003 and is centered on relations with the West, QNA said, adding that at the meeting, the three "reviewed ways of enhancing reconciliation among Arab countries."
