Armed, masked robber holds up Redmond cafe

REDMOND, Ore. -- Police are looking for an armed, masked man who held up Sassy's Cafe in southwest Redmond Monday night, then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. A multi-jurisdictional law enforcement search of the area conducted by Redmond and Bend Police officers and their K9 police dogs, Oregon State Troopers, and Deschutes County Sheriff's deputies was unsuccessful.


According to Redmond Police Detective Sgt. Cory Chase, a report of an armed robbery at Sassy's, a bar and restaurant located in Suite 105 of 3113 South Highway 97, was called in about 10:20 p.m., March 30. Witnesses told police the suspect entered the business, displayed a weapon and demanded money. He was last seen fleeing the area on foot, Chase said.

The suspect was described as male, about 5-foot 8-inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white writing on the front and was wearing a mask, the detective said.
