Two teens arrested in Prineville pharmacy burglary

PRINEVILLE, Ore. – Two teenagers were arrested early this morning when police found them walking from a pharmacy parking lot in northeast Prineville as they responded to a burglary alarm at the business.

According to Prineville Police Narcotics Detective Jeff Frickey, Prineville Police and Crook County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 18-year-old Matthew W. Walker and a 16-year-old boy when they arrived at Hans Pharmacy at 136 NE Third Street about 12:13 a.m., March 31.

Police found a broken window which the two allegedly used to enter the building, and later recovered over 4,000 stolen Schedule-II controlled pills, burglary tools, a glove and stocking hat.

Walker was lodged in the Crook County Jail, and the juvenile was released to the Crook County Juvenile Department and transported to the Deschutes County Juvenile Detention Facility, the detective stated in a news release.

The suspects, both Prineville residents, are charged with eight counts of possession of a Schedule-II controlled substance, nine counts of second-degree theft, first-degree burglary and first-degree criminal mischief.
