ISLAMABAD, Pakistan -- Three Taliban militants were killed near the town of Wana in Pakistan Wednesday by a suspected U.S. missile strike, a Pakistani official says.
South Waziristan official Nasim Dawar said an unmanned drone fired a missile at a truck carrying suspected militants in Pakistan's Federally Administered Tribal Areas, CNN said.
The missile strike left four other people injured. It was not reported whether those wounded were Taliban militants.
The deadly attack marked the 12th missile attack to take place in Pakistan so far this year. During the same time period last year, a total of three missile attacks had taken place.
CNN said while the U.S. military has not confirmed its involvement in Wednesday's airstrike, the United States is the lone country operating in Pakistan that can launch missiles remotely from unmanned drones.
