MOSCOW -- An off-duty police chief allegedly killed three people and injured six others Monday in a supermarket shooting in Moscow, police said.
The killings may have been sparked by a family argument, said Vladimir Markin, police chief in Moscow's Tsaritsino district.
Denis Yevsyukov, chief of police in Moscow's southern district, was arrested after allegedly killing the driver of the car who dropped him at the store, a female cashier and a man inside the store, RIA Novosti reported.
"Yevsyukov had a major row with his wife before the incident," a police official said, adding Yevsyukov then left his house and argued with the driver before killing him and turning his gun on the people in the supermarket.
Yevsyukov, who was drinking before the attack, was taken to a psychiatric facility for examination, Markin said.
