CHC President named to state hospital association board

The 2007 Board of Trustees of Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems (OAHHS) recently named Jim Diegel to the board for a three-year term beginning Jan. 1. Diegel is president and CEO of Cascade Healthcare Community, the parent company of St. Charles Medical Center–Bend and St. Charles Redmond.

“I’m honored to have this opportunity,” said Jim Diegel. “I am really looking forward to working more closely with other Oregon healthcare organizations and being able to bring the voice of Central Oregon residents to the table.”

OAHHS is a statewide member-driven organization representing 57 acute care hospitals, health systems and health plans by working closely with local and national government leaders, business and citizen groups.  As a member of the Board of Trustees, Diegel will help lead the association through legislative grassroots activities and the 2007 Legislative Session.
The 2007 OAHHS board chairman is James Wathen, president and CEO of Southern Coos Hospital and Health Center in Bandon, and chair-elect is Norm Gruber, president of Salem Hospital.
