Deschutes Community Development now accepts credit cards

In an effort to provide better customer service to citizens, Deschutes County’s Community Development now accepts Visa and MasterCard payments for services. Credit card transactions for services are now available in Bend, La Pine and Redmond.

Through the new process, customers to the Community Development Department (CDD) can use their Visa or MasterCard to pay for any land use application, building or septic permit, restaurant license and food handler cards.

The credit card transaction service was requested by CDD customers for some time, the process makes accounting easier for some businesses and saves time for others who may be located in another Oregon city.

The benefits of CDD accepting credit cards for payment include;

·         reduction in “Non-Sufficient Fund” transactions

·         customers do not need to know the fee amount in advance of preparing their check for payment

·          establishing credit card transactions will also assist CDD to create an e-commerce site online at www.deschutes.org in the future
