Shortly before 3 a.m. January 30, Prineville Police officers responded to NW Ninth Street and NW Fairmont Street to a report of a stabbing.  As they arrived, a man, later identified as 22-year old Jimmy L. Robertson of Prineville, fled on foot.  Pursued by police, Robertson was ultimately subdued with a Taser and taken into custody, Chief Eric Bush said.

Robertson was lodged in the Crook County Jail on $10,000 bail, and faces charges of third-degree escape and attempted possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

The stabbing victim, Cody Ray Flowers, 24, also of Prineville, received what officers described as a “non life-threatening stab wound to the chest” and was transported by ambulance to Pioneer Memorial Hospital where he was reported to be in stable condition.

Chief Bush said that they have identified 27-year old Lance Bechtel of Prineville as a “person of interest” who is wanted for questioning in the stabbing.  Bechtel was described as 5-foot 10-inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair.  Persons with knowledge of his whereabouts are asked to call the Prineville Police Department at 541.447.4168.
