Fire ravaged a home in northwest Bend Monday morning, and fire investigators have yet to determine the cause of the blaze which resulted in $1.15 million in damage.

Three engine companies with 16 firefighters responded to an alarm at 19995 Destiny Court about 9 a.m. February 26, Bend Fire Battalion Chief Dave Howe reported.  Destiny Court is located just north of the Old Bend-Redmond Highway off O.B. Riley Road.

Upon arrival, they found heavy smoke coming from the south rear of the two-story home of Steven Trono.  The fire extended into two bedrooms and the attic, Howe said, and was knocked down within 30 minutes.

The home sustained heavy fire damage to the bedrooms and attic, plus extensive smoke damage throughout.  Howe estimated damage to the 4,440 square-foot $1.5 million structure at $750,000, with an additional $400,000 loss to contents.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
